The Good Doctor

May 14 - 18, 2008; Joplin Little Theatre, Joplin, MO

The Good Doctor is a comedy by Neil Simon directed by Ann Lile. A parody of the human condition, it is a series of short stories based upon the early writing of Anton Chekhov touched by Simon's humor. All performances on Wednesdays-Saturdays begin at 7:30 p.m.; Sunday matinees begin at 2:30 p.m. For information please phone (417) 623-3638. Evening of the Arts

Come enjoy an evening of dance and vocal performances by the Musick Studio and Midwest Regional Ballet to benefit the Children's Miracle Network with hors d'oeurves being served at 6:30pm. The performance begins at 7:00pm and include ballet and modern contemporary dance styles and performances by the Musick Studio award winning vocalists. Cost is $10.00 per person. PhotoSpiva 2008

April 19 - June 1, 2008; Spiva Center for the Arts, 222 W. 3rd Street, Joplin, MO

Founded in 1977, PhotoSpiva has become the longest-running competition of its kind in the U.S. Photography enthusiasts will see everything from traditional black and white to modern digital photos and all that falls in between. This exhibit is a must see for anyone with an appreciation of the art as it is a reflection of the current issues and practices in contemporary photography. Good Ol'Days Celebration

June 4 - 7, 2008; Fort Scott, KS

The Fort Scott, KS Good Ol'Days Celebration in June will feature the Budweiser Clydesdales. They will be arriving on June 2, 2008 for a week-long visit and will be stabled at the Fort Scott National Historic Site. Beginning with free exhibitions performed by the Cydesdales and their handlers on June 4 and 5 at the Bourbon County Fairgrounds with the parade beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday, June 6. During the celebration in town on Saturday, June 7 visitors will be given an opportunity to pose with the horses.
